This is because (get ready because it makes almost no sense).
6 - 2 = 4
Then 2 = 4
If 2 = 4 then let's assume that 1 = 2 and 3 = 6
With this assumption 6 + 2 = 8
Also there is actually a pattern this way as it means each number is actually just a representation of it double. Since 1 = 2 and 2 = 4 and 3 = 6 and 4 = 8.
